Social Media Policy

Updated: Jan 24

Last Updated: 1/24/2025

Front Door Healthcare engages with our community through various social media platforms to provide valuable resources, share patient stories, and offer insights into navigating the healthcare system. Our goal is to foster a supportive environment where users can learn from others' experiences and gain access to helpful healthcare information. To ensure transparency, privacy, and respect, we have established the following social media guidelines.

1. Purpose of Our Social Media Presence

Our social media platforms are used to:

  • Share educational content about healthcare navigation, insurance benefits, and medical billing.

  • Highlight success stories and challenges faced by patients in navigating the healthcare system.

  • Provide updates on our services and new healthcare tools.

  • Foster a supportive and informative community by sharing tips and best practices for overcoming healthcare barriers.

2. Sharing Patient Stories

We believe that sharing patient stories can inspire and help others who may be facing similar challenges. These stories demonstrate the importance of accessing the right healthcare resources and provide real-world examples of overcoming obstacles in the healthcare system. We share patient stories in two ways:

a. De-Identified Patient Stories

  • We reserve the right to share de-identified patient stories without obtaining explicit consent. These stories are carefully anonymized to ensure that no personally identifiable information (PII) or Protected Health Information (PHI) is disclosed, in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

  • De-identified stories focus on the healthcare experiences, treatments, and outcomes without revealing the patient's identity. These stories serve to educate and guide others in similar situations, while maintaining the patient's privacy.

b. Patient Stories with Consent

  • If we wish to share a patient’s story in a way that includes their name, likeness, or other identifiable information, we will first obtain the patient’s written consent. This consent will specify how the story will be used and on which platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).

  • We may also seek consent to interview the patient for a more detailed account of their healthcare journey, which could be shared in blog posts, videos, or testimonials.

  • Consent is voluntary, and the patient has the right to withdraw their consent at any time, at which point the content will be removed or modified as appropriate.

3. Commitment to Privacy and Compliance

Front Door Healthcare is committed to protecting patient privacy and complying with all relevant laws, including HIPAA. Our use of patient stories is designed to respect privacy while serving our broader mission of helping individuals navigate the complexities of the healthcare system.

We will never share PHI, personal contact details, or other sensitive information on social media without explicit written consent from the patient. Any de-identified information shared will strictly comply with legal and regulatory guidelines.

4. Engagement and Interaction Guidelines

We encourage community engagement on our social media platforms, but to maintain a respectful and supportive environment, we ask that users adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Respect Privacy: Do not share personal health information about yourself or others in public comments.

  • Be Respectful: We welcome diverse opinions but expect all interactions to remain civil and respectful. Any posts or comments that are inappropriate, offensive, or abusive will be removed.

  • No Medical Advice: Our social media content is for informational purposes only and should not be considered medical advice. Always consult with a healthcare provider for medical questions or concerns.

5. User-Generated Content

By interacting with our social media platforms (e.g., commenting, tagging, or sharing content), you agree that your contributions may be used by Front Door Healthcare for educational, marketing, or promotional purposes. However, we will never disclose any personal health information you share without your explicit permission.

6. Modifications to the Policy

Front Door Healthcare reserves the right to modify or update this Social Media Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
